Teacher Residency Mentor

The CPS Teacher Residency Program prepares select pre-service teachers through  a rigorous full-year classroom apprenticeship with higher-education coursework in one of the following tracks: Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Bilingual Education, Dance, STEM, and Theater. Resident Mentors provide support to bridge the gap between theory and practice throughout the residency. Resident Teachers are staffed into a full-time role in CPS while completing undergraduate or graduate degree coursework and teacher training. Upon completion of the program, residents are guaranteed a teaching position in a CPS school.

If interested, the first step is to reach out to your admin. and have them apply to be a Training Site. In the application, they can name you as a selected mentor and the Teacher Residency Program team will follow up with you for next steps.
