Associate Broad Residents

The Broad Residency in Urban Education provides the opportunity for outstanding management professionals to apply their skills and knowledge to meet the challenges faced by urban public school systems. Over the course of two years, Residents attend quarterly in-person professional development sessions with their cohort in different cities to gain real-world perspectives from improvement efforts in those regions as well as local leaders and practitioners doing the work. They have the opportunity to learn from respected faculty as well as each other while working full-time in k-12 urban public school systems. The curriculum is built around four key subjects: Foundations of Urban Education, Strategic Transformation of School Systems, Organizational Change and Leadership Development. Residents receive one-on-one coaching, 360-degree feedback and, upon successful completion of the program, a master’s in educational leadership.
