Affinity Groups (DPQ & The Fund)

The Department of Principal Quality, in partnership with the Fund, is launching Affinity Groups for aspiring leaders. These groups will support participants in building their personal and professional cultural identity and community. There will be monthly touch points for participants to connect with colleagues who share their affinity. The groups offered will be: Black, Latino/a/e, Asian-American Pacific Islander, White and LGBTQIA+. The Affinity Groups aim to provide safe spaces for aspiring leaders to discuss topics related to their cultural backgrounds and experiences. Participants will be able to bring their authentic selves and find community as they navigate their leadership journeys.

The Affinity Groups will be led by current CPS Leaders who share the same cultural identity. These groups aim to provide safe, sacred spaces for participants to discuss topics related to their identity and bring their authentic selves to their personal and professional lives.

Each group will have its own unique experience personalized and co-created with and by the participants. There is no set curriculum – the community will organically shape their own space to learn and grow together.

You will need to select one (1) Affinity Group to join for this year-long program. The groups will be: Black, Latino/a/e, Asian-American Pacific Islander, White and LGBTQIA+.

We will meet monthly with a mix of virtual and in-person meetings (2-3 times per year). We will also periodically bring multiple Affinity Groups together to build allyship across our communities.
