The Accelerator is a three-year support model that provides urban K-12 school principals and their leadership teams with the skills necessary to execute school-wide change management and significantly improve academics and culture. Schools that take part in The Accelerator receive customized support in developing school action plans that are grounded in data, and that are monitored through the delivery of three school assessments a year. Leaders just entering the role and seasoned principals alike, receive one-on-one advisory support to build and refine transformational leadership skills and are assisted in analyzing progress within the key pillars that drive success in high performing schools.

Influences others to positive action: Principals develop a strategic vision and expectations that are consistently leveraged under an 80:20 focus paradigm, and that drive success under each school pillar. This clarity of direction, in addition to execution on key leadership competencies, are used to drive buy-in and inspiration with staff, parent, and student constituencies.

Strategizes and drives for results to maximize impact: Through incremental advisor touchpoints and cohort calls, Accelerator principals are guided to maintain focus on their highest goals for their schools and to refine action steps that drive toward these goals through consistent intervals of data review. Accelerator principals are supported through the refinement of their abilities in strong systems creation, prioritization, and efficient and effective process development within the school setting.

Fosters trusting relationships to enable productive change: Accelerator principals are supported to leverage their strengths and emotional intelligence in order to build trust and loyalty through candor, transparency, and proper modeling. Key drivers within the Accelerate Framework also guide principals to integrate systematic and quality onboarding, development, and staff recognition cycles in order to foster buy-in and trust.

Adapts and shows resilience to create solutions: Accelerator principals are supported to persevere, and course correct through challenges, with a focus on the original goal. Much attention is paid to monitoring change that might affect goal achievement, through advising and whole-school assessment intervals, in order to build comfort with adaptation and persistence within a leader’s profile.
