The Health and Physical Education Leader (HPEL) attends Leadership Team Meetings, professional development and other Health and Physical Education Department sponsored events. The HPEL serve as a bridge between the Department of Health and Physical Education and teachers across all Networks. They pilot new and creative ways to implement policy, practices and curriculum/assessment as outlined by the Department of Health and Physical Education. They facilitate professional development for educators across the district, advise on curriculum development, and work in small groups or independently on projects.
Eligibility: Three years of teaching experience suggested.
Influences others to positive action: The HPEL develops curricular resources and professional learning accessible by hundreds of Heath and PE teachers across the district.
Fosters trusting relationships to enable productive change: The HPEL collaborates with the Department of Health and Physical Education and serve as a source of support and information for Health and Physical Education teachers across the district.
