The Leadership Bridge Program is a new pilot for up to 25 assistant principal and principal pairs. The program will include individualized leadership coaching for assistant principals, close collaboration with principals to strengthen systems in the building and develop succession planning resources and joint community of practice sessions for all participants around core principal fundamentals (e.g. instructional leadership, data analysis, and building high-performing teams). To gain a better understanding of their own leadership, assistant principals will take the Val-Ed leadership diagnostic and use this to inform the development and implementation of a personal leadership development action plan. This program is designed for APs who are considered to be internal successors.

Eligibility: Current Assistant Principals who are interested in becoming a Principal and have been identified as a potential internal successor in their building. District Assistant Principals should have earned CPS Principal eligibility or plan to go through the process in 2020-21.
