Accelerate Institute’s Leadership Academy is a rigorous 4-day boot camp focused on the strategies school leaders need right now to boost their leadership and management practices. In particular, the Leadership Academy offering will help these leaders think about school systems as a whole and backward map how to design their teams, data management, and priorities so they can effectively support their teams towards meeting academic and cultural outcomes. Participants will leave with concrete, actionable ideas and enhanced skills they can use to better support their current schools and prepare for future careers in school leadership.

Eligibility: Current leadership team member (K-12), approval from principal/direct supervisor to participate.

Competency Alignment

Influences others to positive action:  Through the use of the Accelerate Framework leaders develop a strategic vision and expectations that are consistently leveraged under our “80/20-focus” paradigm and that drive success under each school pillar. This clarity of direction, in addition to execution on key leadership competencies, are utilized to drive buy-in and inspiration with staff, parent, and student constituencies.

Strategizes and drives for results to maximize impact:  Leadership Academy participants are guided to maintain focus on their highest goals for their schools and to refine action steps that drive toward these goals through consistent intervals of data review. Participants are supported through the refinement of their abilities in strong systems creation, prioritization, and efficient and effective process development within the school setting.

Fosters trusting relationships to enable productive change: Leadership Academy participants are supported to leverage their strengths and emotional intelligence in order to build trust and loyalty through candor, transparency, and proper modeling. Key drivers within the Accelerate Framework also guide leaders to integrate systematic and quality team onboarding, development, and recognition cycles in order to foster buy-in and trust from staff being lead. 

Adapts and shows resilience to create solutions: Leadership Academy participants are supported to persevere, and course correct through challenges, with a focus on the original goal. Much attention is paid to monitoring change that might affect goal achievement in order to build comfortability with adaptation and persistence within a leader’s profile.
