APs Rising: AP Resident Principal Program

- Duration: 12-18 months

The CPS Department of Principal Quality is launching a residency program specifically designed for assistant principals, with the goal of creating a rigorous 12- to 18-month preparation experience in a school environment that aligns with the district's anticipated talent needs.
Eligibility: Current Assistant Principals who have passed principal eligibility and are interested in becoming a CPS principal.

APs Rising is a suite of targeted development opportunities that are designed to support our talented pool of assistant principals. It includes an Aspiring Principal Professional Learning Community (PLC) for current assistant principals who are interested in gaining a deeper understanding of the skills needed to take on a principal position. The PLC will be led by an experienced CPS principal.
Eligibility: Current Assistant Principals who are interested in becoming a CPS Principal.

APs Rising: Leadership Bridge Program

- Application Window: March 3-May 4
APs Rising is a suite of targeted development opportunities that are designed to support our talented pool of assistant principals. It includes a Leadership Bridge Program for up to 25 assistant principal and principal pairs. As part of this program, APs will receive individualized leadership coaching from an external partner in close collaboration with their principal.
Eligibility: Current Assistant Principals who are interested in becoming a Principal and have been identified as a potential internal successor in their building. District Assistant Principals should have earned CPS Principal eligibility or plan to go through the process in 2020-21.

Bonfire is a talent development accelerator that supports and trains 50 women in a six-month program, to help them grow their leadership skills and build the pipeline of women leaders in the City of Chicago.
Eligibility: Women leaders between the ages of 20-40 years old who are rising talent with demonstrated potential for extraordinary leadership in the workplace of the future.
