The Vanderbilt Assessment of Leadership in Education (Val-Ed) is a research-based, 360-degree leadership diagnostic tool. Val-Ed focuses on gathering evidence of leadership competencies and behaviors that are specific to the role of a school principal.
Eligibility: Current Chicago district or charter assistant principal considering principalship who would like to learn more about their leadership abilities and develop and track a plan to strengthen leadership skills

Fellows work in a Federal agency or U.S. Congressional office to affect change in their specific area of interest related to STEM education.
Eligibility: Must have taught five of the last seven years in a STEM discipline, willing to relocate for the 11-month fellowship, and currently employed full-time in a public or private elementary or secondary school or school district in the U.S.

The Aspiring Assistant Principal Institute (AAPI) is a year-long program aimed at preparing aspiring assistant principals (teacher leaders, school counselors and other staff) by providing knowledge and tools for school leadership. Participants identify areas of needed improvement and self-assess their readiness for the AP role.
Eligibility: Tier 1: Pursuing an ISBE Educator License with Administrative Endorsement. Tier 2 and 3: Have an ISBE Educator License with Administrative Endorsement, Trained and Certified to evaluate teachers (REACH) - [Tier 3]

Aspiring Assistant Principal Institute AP Mentor
